Cinematographer & Filmmaker
I help individuals, companies, communities and organizations tell their stories. Through professional documentary filmmaking and photography, I offer tailored camera work that combines creativity, technical precision, and a deep narrative focus.
Cinematographer and Photographer specializing in documentary storytelling
”Don’t shoot how it looks, shoot how it feels.”
To me, image-making is about capturing what feels real. Specializing in documentary filmmaking and photography, I focus on highlighting authentic stories with presence and respect. Based in Södermanland, Sweden, I work nationwide and internationally, always keeping the human story at the center of the production.
In my work, I strive to document our time and amplify human experiences, frequently combining deep visual storytelling with my own written articles and reportage. I am currently serving as Director of Photography (DoP) for two ongoing feature-length documentaries—a role that demands both patience and a visual intuition for the unscripted. From subtle gestures to spontaneous moments, I create a visual language, whether in motion or still imagery, that resonates with the viewer.
Services in Documentary Filmmaking and Photography
I combine creative vision with technical precision to bring stories to life, regardless of the format:
- Documentary & Reality: Authentic storytelling where the narrative is allowed to unfold naturally.
- Interviews & Field Reports: Sharp visuals and 32-bit float audio that give the story authority.
- Team Integration: A steady, solution-oriented collaborator for larger productions and crews.
- Behind the Scenes (BTS): Documenting the process to build trust and engagement in your marketing.
- Photojournalism & Editorial Features: Complete image and text reportage for magazines, press, and organizations, alongside sharp interview visuals and 32-bit float audio that give the story total authority.
Experience and Craft
While a solid education at Stockholm Film School and Molkom Film was an essential part of my journey toward working professionally in film, it is primarily through countless hours behind the camera in the field that I continuously refine my cinematic eye. I have filmed and photographed documentaries both in Sweden and internationally, and to me, cinematography is an ongoing process where technical precision and intuition go hand in hand.
My strength lies in the ability to quickly read a context—whether in a controlled studio environment or under unpredictable conditions in the field—always ensuring the visual expression serves the story.
The Creative Process Behind a Documentary Production
Working with documentary storytelling is about much more than just pressing record. As a cinematographer, I often step into people's lives during sensitive or intense moments. This requires a high degree of empathy and respect to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable in front of the lens. My goal is always to become a natural part of the environment, rather than a distraction.
By combining this interpersonal intuition with cutting-edge technology, I ensure the visuals are not only beautiful, but deeply foundational to the story itself. Every scene I capture has a purpose and drives the narrative forward—whether it is for a concise corporate film or a feature-length documentary for cinema or television.
Crafting the Visual Language
Every project requires a unique visual palette. Whether working on a gritty, fast-paced reportage or a cinematic feature-length documentary, the choice of lenses, lighting, and framing is always intentional. It is about creating a look that organically reflects the mood of the story.
My approach combines the raw intimacy of available light with the polished look of high-end cinema gear. This balance ensures that the technical execution never overshadows the human element, but rather elevates it, creating a compelling aesthetic that keeps the audience emotionally invested from the first frame to the last.
Professional Equipment for Documentary Filmmaking and Photography
To ensure the highest industry standards, I work with modern and reliable gear:
- Cameras: Sony FX6 (Netflix-approved), Canon R6 & R6 Mark II.
- Stabilization: Steadicam, EasyRig, and Shoulder Rig.
- Audio & Lighting: 32-bit float audio recording, professional lighting for interviews and field work.
- Synchronization: Professional, industry-standard timecode sync utilizing the Tentacle Sync E and Track E workflow.
- Post-Production: DaVinci Resolve Studio, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
